Cedar Hill ISD Acknowledges Excellent Accomplishments of Residents
(CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) The Cedar Hill Impartial Faculty District Board of Trustees voted on Monday evening to approve names for 3 newly repurposed buildings.
The Science, Know-how, Engineering & Math (STEM) Middle would be the Dr. Peggy M. Wilson STEM Middle (1515 West Belt Line Street) honoring 94-year-old longtime Cedar Hill citizen Dr. Peggy Wilson, who was the primary feminine Engineer on the firm that’s now Exxon Mobil. The Dr. Wilson STEM Middle will share the constructing with Collegiate Academy and Excessive Faculty.
The Belt Line Enrollment Middle at 504 East Belt Line will now be The Lacy Enrollment Middle to honor the 4 siblings of the Lacy Household, who had been the primary African American students to attend CHISD, within the early Seventies.
The Educating and Studying Middle, 1533 Excessive Pointe Lane, will now be the JoLynn Maddox Educating and Studying Middle.
Maddox, a Cedar Hill citizen who joined the district in 1988, is an educational coach with CHISD. She is a former CHISD Teacher of the Year at both the elementary and secondary ranges.
“Cedar Hill ISD is honored to acknowledge the excellent accomplishments of The Lacy Household, Wilson and Maddox,” CHISD Superintendent Dr. Gerald Hudson mentioned. “We all know that many present and future Cedar Hill ISD scholars and workers members will study their contributions to the district, for a few years to come back.”
The district is planning official dedication ceremonies for every constructing this fall.
